Our Mobility Aids service is a purpose-driven social enterprise within the British Red Cross, partnering with the NHS and Local Authorities to provide essential equipment that helps people live independently at home.
What does a typical day in the life of a Stores Operative involve?
- Managing equipment within the warehouse and refurbishment department, ensuring items are received, recorded, cleaned, maintained, and dispatched efficiently.
- Updating the stock control system to manage inventory and ensure accurate tracking.
- Making sure that the stores housekeeping is maintained to the high standard required.
- Working with the team to meet and exceed customer expectations, service levels, and company standards while supporting profitability.
What does it take to be a successful Stores Operative? You'll be:
- Clear communicator with good time management.
- Comfortable with manual tasks and lifting up to 25kg.
- Organised and able to prioritise workload.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Basic IT skills with the ability to learn an online stock management system.
Previous experience of working in stores / warehousing environments would be advantageous.
