About The Role

Senior Operations & Performance Measurement Manager 
Location: UK Flexible 
Permanent Contract

The British Red Cross are excited to recruit a Senior Operations and Performance Measurement Manager.  
Can you be instrumental in ensuring the smooth functioning of our Data & Insight department while driving performance measurement and evaluation initiatives? If so, then we may have the job for you! 

A day in the life of our Senior Operations & Performance Measurement Manager 
In this busy but rewarding role you will have several focuses:
  • Optimising the team’s operations, including processes around the management of suppliers and the team’s budget, 
  • Managing resources effectively, how we are ordering the work we do and ensuring effective stakeholder management around this,
  • Developing comprehensive performance frameworks. Delivering performance metrics to measure the right things and ensure consistency between different reports 
Your dedication will enhance our understanding of marketing & fundraising performance, ensure an efficient use of resources and facilitate continuous improvement across our directorate.

Performance measurement will be central to what you do. You’ll utilise qualitative and quantitative data to help you clarify measurement priorities and define key performance indicators (KPIs). You’ll develop frameworks that support the understanding of our performance. You’ll ensure there are reports and dashboards to support decision making and ultimately improve our fundraising reach.    

You’ll be a critical business partner to the Marketing and Fundraising strategy team. As a strategic business partner, you’ll provide insights and recommendations to enhance decision-making and drive performance improvements. 

You’ll be a significant stakeholder in the planning and prioritisation of the Data and Insight function’s quarterly planning and delivery schedule. You’ll ensure processes are in place and are regularly reviewed. You’ll regularly communicate updates to key stakeholders. You’ll project manage and provide steer to ensure progress against agreed aims and objectives. 

To be a successful Senior Operations & Performance Measurement Manager you should have:
  • Performance Management experience: Demonstrable track record of successfully leading performance measurement and evaluation initiatives. Experience defining and tracking KPIs and developing measurement frameworks. 
  • Great communication and collaboration skills: Ability to establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Confidence when communicating to different audiences and when persuading or influencing decision makers. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills: Proficiency in data analysis techniques and interpretation. 
  • Highly developed written and oral communication, negotiation, persuasion, interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Strong project management skills: Setting clear objectives and managing resources and timelines.
