About The Role

Account Management Lead (Institutional Partnerships)
Location: UK Flexible
Permanent Contract
Hours per week: 35 (typically 9 – 5, Mon – Fri)
Salary Range: £56,364 - £66,132 (plus London Weighting of £3,344, if applicable) per annum

The British Red Cross are recruiting a dynamic senior professional to help drive growth with long-standing partners in the Institutional Partnerships team. Nurturing our core donor relationships, you’ll be responsible for: 
  • stewarding established relationships, 
  • scoping new opportunities, 
  • setting a strategic direction for our most important institutional partnerships,
With the ultimate goal of delivering multi-year, multi-million partnerships to support people in crisis. 

A day in the life of our Account Management Lead (Institutional Partnerships)
The Institutional Partnerships team brings together expert institutional partnership managers. We build and manage relationships with UK and Internationally based Institutional Funders (excluding FCDO). We achieve impact for humanity through long-term, interdisciplinary, transformational partnerships in the UK (and internationally).

In this environment you’ll collaborate closely with our operational, advocacy and enabling teams to secure multi-million, multi-year funding opportunities and develop ambitious partnerships with long-standing institutional donors such as the Scottish Government or Jersey Overseas Aid.
Building on strong and established relationships, you will bring your knowledge and expertise in donor stewardship and engagement to take these relationships to their full potential, as well as taking on new partnerships once handed over from our New Business teams, ensuring sustainable and ambitious growth for the IP team.

You will have managed large, complex proposals, be comfortable with accurate forecasting, be a confident people manager, a strong team player and be open to a culture of high support, high challenge. You will have a vision for how BRC could maximise the potential of its most important partnerships, and will work collaboratively with our key internal stakeholder teams to create partnership strategies and implement them. You will thrive in a fast-paced work environment and tackle obstacles with a “we can if” attitude. 

To be a successful Account Management Lead (Institutional Partnerships) you should have:
  • Sector experience: Deep understanding of the political landscape and funding flows in the humanitarian (international) and charity (UK) sectors. Demonstratable success in securing large institutional funding grants, and developing working-level and senior relationships with institutional funding stakeholders/decision makers.
  • Great communication and collaboration skills: Ability to establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Confidence when communicating to different audiences and when persuading or influencing decision makers.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication, negotiation, persuasion, interpersonal and networking skills.
  • High level of financial literacy: Ability to understand and summarise financial information, develop budgets and demonstrate value for money in proposals.
