About The Role

Service Support Worker - Regulated Service - Home Care
Location: Community Work. Community Work, based at British Red Cross, Dundee Technology Park, Dundee, DD2 1SW, with travel around Dundee
Hours: 16, 24 or 35 per week
Contract type: Permanent
Salary: £21,840 per annum, pro-rata for roles under 35 hours
Driving Requirement: 
A full driving license and access to a vehicle is preferred but not mandatory
 
This is a Regulated Service and successful candidates will be required to register with the Scottish Social Security Council (SSSC)

A day in the life of a Support worker will included;
  • Playing a vital role in providing practical and emotional assistance to individuals in their own homes.
  • Assisting with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and medication support.
  • Supporting individuals with household tasks, and meal preparation
  • Encouraging and promoting independence, enabling individuals to maintain their hobbies and interests.
  • Building positive relationships with service users, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensuring all care documentation is accurate and up to date.
To be a successful Support Worker you'll need;
  • Previous experience in a similar care, preferably within a healthcare or social care setting, but not essential.
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature, with a strong desire to make a positive impact on individuals lives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of person-centred care principles and a commitment to upholding dignity and autonomy.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and reliability.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • A full driving license and access to a vehicle is preferred but not mandatory.
