About The Role

Data Engineer 
Location: UK Flexible 
Permanent Contract
Hours per week: 35 (typically Mon – Fri)

A Day in the life of our Data Engineer
In this busy role you’ll have the opportunity to provide technical support around the design, development and delivery of the data warehouse, data processes, data products and services that make up the data platform and integrations for our fundraising and marketing directorate. 

You’ll use your expertise to manage, maintain and monitor our software and services. You’ll develop data pipelines and functionality using agreed standards with approved methods and tooling. Capturing and analysing user stories, you’ll make sure their needs are understood and be able to show our services have a meaningful impact. 

The data items you work with may vary from smaller proof-of-concepts through to production-ready data systems. But the focus of your endeavour will always remain on benefit realisation. 

You’ll have a personal improvement mindset. You’ll ensure that your technical skills are continually developed through networking with peers, online research, training courses and other forums.

The role of Data Engineer might be for you if:
  • You have technical experience: Good understanding of database technology with specific use when storing and manipulating large datasets. You can develop data pipelines. 
  • You’ve proven experience of delivering end to end solutions. You can interpret business requirements and create strong technical designs and solutions (with associated technical documentation). 
  • You’ve excellent verbal and written communication skills. You can listen to the needs of technical and business stakeholders and interpret between them. 
  • You can influence and drive best-practice in solution designs. You can ensure that solutions meet business requirements and align with the Data Platform strategy, contributing to the organisation’s strategic goals. 
  • You can effectively manage Projects, using different approaches (for example agile, waterfall etc).

Please be aware: BRC are currently trailing a 4-day working week. We will be incorporating the successful candidate into this working trial.
