Do you have the passion and fundraising expertise to develop and lead our flagship event portfolio? At the British Red Cross, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraising professional to lead us in achieving our fundraising objectives.

We're looking for a strategic thinker, a confident team manager. Can you lead a team to manage a portfolio of inspiring events? Everyday you'll be driving  the programme forward, maximising value, continuously improving ways of working and innovating in response to need.

A day in the life of our Events Manager
In this busy but rewarding role you’ll be tasked with guiding and delivering a multi-year strategy for the BRC mass participation and challenge event portfolio. This strategy will be designed to maximise income, nurture relationships and supporter engagement over the coming years.

You’ll be responsible for exploring parallel opportunities to grow the BRC events brand with our audience. You’ll base your decisions on insight and engage a diverse range of supporters and connect them to opportunities to further support our endeavour. You’ll develop and test new products, create ongoing supporter journeys that engage participants and give them further ways to deepen their engagement with our cause.

The role is also responsible for the management of a truly cross-functional internal team. You’ll ensure that the team is focused on our fundraising strategy and delivering the best quality product for our supporters. In addition, you’ll be the key contact for critical relationships with several external agencies and delivery partners.

Fundraising is the building block of the Red Cross, without it there'd be no Emergency First Aid, no Refugee Support, and no Disaster Relief. Our team share the same goal - to spread the power of kindness and help those in greatest need.

What does it take to be an Events Manager?
  • Excellent understanding data analysis and how this should inform product development. Possessing an excellent grasp of Google Analytics, digital marketing user journeys and CRM platforms.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to use insights from credible sources for developing events and maximising fundraising.
  • Experience delivering mass participation virtual events and ways to maximise fundraising.
  • Demonstrable experience matrix management and leadership of a large project team, including external stakeholders and agencies.
  • Experience of establishing effective relationships at all levels to influence and enable decision making. You are a great ‘team player’ who has the flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills for ensuring projects are delivered on time.
  • Outstanding oral, writing, and copy-editing abilities.
