Salary: £22,315 - £26,253 per annum based on 35 hours per week
Driving: Full UK manual driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential

Working as part of the emergency response team within the West Midlands area, you will coordinate and encourage our amazing volunteers and deliver a wide range of activities within the area, including responding to major incidents, fires and floods.
What does a day in the life of a Emergency Response Officer involve?
- Managing and supporting volunteers in emergency responses.
- Ensuring effective and efficient responses to crisis and emergency situations.
- Developing the emergency planning role, engaging with external organisations.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with external organisations, like local authorities and fire and rescue services.
What do you need to be a successful Emergency Response Officer?
- Experience in managing volunteers and the ability to guide and influence others.
- Experience of delivering high quality services to the public and dealing with complex / changing situations and tasks.
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety practices and of legislation for emergency response.
- Strong IT proficiency, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs in particular.
- Experience of creating and monitoring data; ability to collate and interpret a range of management information including statistical information and user feedback.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships and contribute to the development of the service.
In this truly rewarding role, you will be part of a 24-hour on-call rota as potential emergency response duties can arise at any time. You’ll need to be easily accessible to the location to attend work meetings and face to face events on a regular basis. Ideally, candidates will be located within West Midlands.
