Corporate Partnerships Business Development Executive
Location: London, Moorgate (Hybrid)
Salary: £29,430 - £32,307 per annum (Inner London Weighting, if applicable)
Hours: 35 per week
Contract Type: Permanent
The Corporate Partnerships (CP) team at the British Red Cross generates millions of pounds each year to support the charity’s work in the UK and around the world. We’re looking for a dynamic and ambitious fundraising executive with experience in fundraising, sales, or marketing to join the Business Development (BD) sub-team. This sub-team focuses on identifying, securing, and developing strategic partnerships with businesses. These partnerships help us raise funds for people in crisis and draw on the skills, resources, and capabilities of businesses. They also enable our corporate partners to achieve their strategic goals.
Could you help our team develop 6-7 figure corporate partnerships? You’ll need strong skills in research, analytical thinking, communications, negotiation, creative thinking, and project planning. Additionally, could you leap into action when disasters strike to secure urgent funds for our emergency appeals?
If you’re interested, you will be a valued member of the CP team. This role offers a great variety of learning and development opportunities within a thriving organisation.
A day in the life of a Corporate Partnerships Business Development Executive will involve:
- Apply your research skills to identify and review new partnership opportunities.
- Develop fundraising materials, including proposals, funding applications, presentations, and concept notes, using your copywriting and design skills.
- Represent the British Red Cross at new business meetings, confidently discussing our work and using active listening and negotiating skills to explore connections.
- Unlock non-financial support such as gifts in kind and commercial expertise, and select and tailor communications and events to engage prospects and supporters.
- Proactively develop relationships with colleagues across the charity, support the team with general administration, and maximise opportunities for additional income and support during emergency appeals.
To be a successful Corporate Partnerships Business Development Executive, you’ll need:
- Understanding of corporate social responsibility and interest in working on charity/corporate partnerships.
- Well Developed Microsoft 365 skills.
- Proven experience of working for a charity in a fundraising role or for a company/agency in a marketing, sponsorship or sales environment.
- Experience of forming strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience of relationship development and management.
- Experience of planning large or complex activities with senior people and across multiple stakeholders.
- Experience of meeting financial targets.
- Supports inclusive practices, challenges discrimination and promotes diversity in line with our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) policy.
The closing date for applications is 23.59 on the 13th April 2025.
In return for your commitment and expertise, you’ll get:
- Holidays: 36 days annual leave (including bank holidays) + option to buy 5 extra days.
- Pension scheme: Up to 6% contributory pension.
- Flexible working: We do our best to accommodate your preferred work style.
- Learning & Development: Wide range of career opportunities + comprehensive learning.
- Discounts: Access to Blue Light Discount Card and employee benefits platform.
- Wellbeing Support: Access to mental health and wellbeing assistance.
- Team Working: Support our mission in a collaborative team.
- Cycle2Work: Lease a bicycle through the scheme.
- Season ticket loan: Interest-free loan for commuting expenses.
At The British Red Cross, we pride ourselves on our diverse workforce, and ensuring we have an inclusive environment for all our staff and volunteers. We remain committed to ensuring our teams can bring their true selves to work without risk or fear of discrimination. We do this through regular data reporting, and the support of our internal Race and Equality Network (REEN), LGBT+ Network, our Disability and Wellness Network (DAWN), Gender Network, Carers Network and Young Staff Network.
