Job Title: Design Lead
Job Location: Hybrid (home and office) can be based anywhere in the UK but will need some travel to the London Office
Salary £53,602 to £58,000 per annum per annum based on 35 hours per week (plus ILW, if residing & working in London)

Could you deliver on key British Red Cross service design projects and be responsible for ensuring our users are at the heart of our design and development process?
Could you lead on principles and approaches to service design at British Red Cross, including bringing together our user centred design community?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading international humanitarian organisation taking responsibility for improving and scaling service design at British Red Cross, whilst still getting stuck in to delivering projects.
Alongside building our design community, you'll be working on a range of projects, including some of our innovation projects. This could include tackling:
- How we might facilitate an increase in individual flood preparation at scale
- How we might galvanise the public to connect with and act on the humanitarian values we stand for
- How we might connect volunteers with flexible, bitesize ways to impactfully support our mission.
A week in the life of a Design Lead could involve:
- Facilitating a workshop with key stakeholders, to get to the heart of the problem we’re trying to solve
- Conducting user interviews to understand what our users really need, and how our ideas to solve problems might work
- Sketching solutions, and creating prototypes
- Supporting other designers in the organisation to solve a problem they’re trying to tackle
- Running sessions to help our design community collaborate, learn from each other create consistency
To be a successful Design Lead, you will:
- Have a significant portfolio of work, showcasing brilliant work to improve end to end user journeys, with experience of working across both digital and offline channels.
- Demonstrate knowledge and passion for innovation (including user insight, design thinking, rapid prototyping, agile delivery)
- Be user focused with sound experience of user research, including rapid prototyping and quantitative and qualitative methods.
- Be able to influence and mentor others, and be able to work with senior stakeholders to achieve consensus
