Salary: £22,932 per annum based on 35 hours per week, pro rata

This 12-month paid internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and develop your skills in social media within our Health and Care, South East team.
You’ll work as part of the Health and Care, South East team to create engaging content, develop digital marketing strategies and manage social media accounts. You'll analyse social media metrics to track performance and generate reports. As part of the British Red Cross, you’ll be contributing to a mission that connects human kindness with those in crisis, helping to build resilience in communities.
Based in the South East of England you’ll travel across Kent, Sussex, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, and Surrey (expenses covered) and help develop and implement digital marketing strategies. Plus, you’ll collaborate with team members on social media campaigns and local outreach programmes and support the team while embracing the charity’s values.
Wondering about a day in the life of a Social Media Intern? You'll be:
- Creating engaging content for social media platforms.
- Managing and monitoring social media accounts for consistent updates.
- Developing and implementing digital marketing strategies.
- Analysing social media metrics to track performance and generate reports.
- Collaborating with the Health and Care, South East team and the Social Media team.
- Utilising digital tools (e.g., Canva, Microsoft 365) to support activities.
- Consistently communicating with your line manager and team members during meetings, actively participating in discussions.
- Supporting brand reputation management through community management.
What will you need to be a successful Social Media Intern?
- Exceptional communication abilities, capable of creating engaging content and interacting effectively with diverse audiences.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail for tracking social media metrics and generating reports.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment, supporting and participating in social media campaigns.
- Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for social media management and content creation (e.g., Canva, Microsoft 365).
- Familiarity with social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok) and their best practices.
- Willingness to travel within the South East of England (excluding London) to collaborate with colleagues and participate in programmes and events.
