About The Role

Location: UK Flexible 
Contract type: 12 months’ Fixed Term Contract 



We are excited to present the opportunity for a Green Organisation Programme Manager; a new role with a Pan-organisational impact in terms of design and delivery of complex and significant change programmes, and in helping deliver the ambition set out in the 2030 Strategy and shape the future of the organisation.


What you will be doing
As Programme Manager you will working with the organisation to design and deliver initiatives that will drive culture and behaviour change across the organisation that will contribute to reducing the organisation’s environmental impact. You will bring together existing but disparate green and climate change groups and associated work to realise the ambition set out in the strategy, including engaging with key senior stakeholders to deliver a 3-year green plan and budget with robust success factors and measures in place.

You will liaise with multiple teams across the organisation and project manage multiple strands of work within these teams to deliver identified quick wins and critical first steps to becoming a green organisation. you will also incorporate learning from our Covid-19 pandemic response and link with other major change projects and programmes that provide opportunities to reduce the organisation’s environmental impact.


What we are looking for
A credible leader and strong source of knowledge and advice, you should have substantial project management experience and a qualification or experience of working on environmental protection.

You should have up to date technical knowledge and experience in all aspects of project and programme management techniques, processes and controls with the ability to work in situations of ambiguity and change as well as an understanding of sustainable financial reporting. 

You will have experience of successfully and independently leading delivery of change programmes, including those with technology and cultural and behaviour dimensions. You should also have an understanding of how technology can be used to assist in changing behaviours. 

Most importantly, you will have experience of implementing change programmes designed to reduce an organisation’s environmental impact

The role of Green Organisation Programme Manager sits within the Communications and Advocacy Directorate, which tells the stories about who we are, what we do, what we believe, and the difference we make to people’s lives. 

Our goal is to ensure that both externally and internally people act, behave, or make decisions in a way that results in a positive change for people in crisis.


Closing date for applications is 23:59 on the 28th of January with interviews scheduled to take place on the 12th of February 2021.
