Following internal promotions, we have two fantastic HR Officer opportunities within our International People team. These roles will provide vital HR advice and support to British Red Cross staff, overseas delegates and Register members, within the International Directorate in the UK, as well as under the umbrella of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), supporting the objectives of the International Strategy. 

Reporting to the International HR Advisor, as International HR Officer (Overseas Staff) you will provide high quality operational HR advice and support on a wide range of generalist People topics, covering the full employee and deployment life cycle. You will play a key role in the updating and implementation of International HR policies, HR data use and continuous improvement projects related to People initiatives. 
 
Reporting to the Deployments Adviser, the International Rosters & Registers HR Officer will primarily focus on International talent management with effective coordination of our International rosters of specialist staff and the British Red Cross register of pre-screened candidates for rapid deployment, emergency operations or longer-term programmes.


What we are looking for 

You will be an experienced and self-motivated HR generalist who is passionate about the role of HR in an Internationally focussed or Humanitarian context.
You will be organised and insightful; able to analyse data, maintain accurate records, research, edit and draft content for different audiences within a fast-paced environment.

You will have excellent customer service and relationship management skills; you’ll be confident communicating and presenting effectively at various levels internally and externally, across cultures and have a proactive and solutions-focussed attitude.

You will have experience in recruiting including administration of recruitment activities and participation in selection decision making (Rosters and Registers HR Officer only)

You are flexible and are able to be on-call for two weeks in every eight. There may also be the requirement to work weekends and out of hours during large emergency response operations (on call allowance/time off in lieu will be applicable).

The International People Team provides operational and advisory HR and L&D support to the staff of the International Directorate, made up of UK based staff, international staff in overseas programmes and national staff in overseas programmes. The department also provides support to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (the Federation) through the provision of and ongoing support to suitably qualified personnel on secondment into these organisations 

As a member of the International People team, embedded into International Directorate, you will support the provision of high quality, business focussed HR services to BRC field staff and delegates. This will include proactive engagement with field offices and delegates, to address concerns and trouble shoot. You will also be responsible for collecting and analysing HR data relating to overseas HR activity for trend and gap analyses and wider reporting, as well as managing and maintaining International HR’s internal manuals, procedures, and toolkits.
