Retail Policy and Compliance Lead
Job Location: UK Flexible, Home or office with occasional travel.
Salary £32,170 per annum based on 35 hours per week:
Contract Type: Permanent
The role will be responsible for leading our policy and compliance programmes and processes within Retail. A key priority of the team is our corporate stock and advising on issues affecting risk and compliance associated with the processing of goods at the retail central warehouse facility.
The post-holder will be to manage and advise on the relationship with our external audit and customer experience programme providers to ensure process, results and follow up are of a high standard. They will work with colleagues across the department to gather insight with the aim of developing and improving compliance in shops, as such onward collaboration will be with Heads of Retail and Business unit leads.
A day in the life of a Retail Policy and Compliance Lead will involve:
- Maintaining internal policy documents and liaising with section owners to ensure all content is up to date and in line with internal and external guidance
- Ensuring changes to policy are communicated and monitored as appropriate
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure corporate stock has proportionate policy created and communicated
- Managing the relationship with our Audit and Customer Experience provider, overseeing the programme and dealing with matters arising throughout the year.
- Centralising compliance follow up, ensuring consistency
- Monitor results of Audit and Customer Experience and follow up with stakeholders to ensure action planning is tracked and recorded.
- Support Retail Stock Generation and Gift Aid Manager with compliance strategy around corporate stock including monitoring results of audits and/or additional areas of focus
- Collaborate on business priorities and innovations to ensure activities have appropriate policy and/or compliance support as needed.
- Engaging with Charity Retail Association and advising on sector themes such as emerging risks and collaboration opportunities
To be a successful Retail Policy and Compliance Lead, You’ll need:
- Excellent communication skills – being able to interpret information in a clear, concise way with people at different levels
- Good analytical skills with ability to interpret relevant data/results/incidents from multiple sources
- Process improvement experience and/or change management experience in a similar area
- Experience creating clear process documentation ideally for a retail or charity audience
- Ability to provide trend analysis and reporting with clear narrative and recommendations
- Stakeholder management skills and experience - we're looking for a strong people person who can consult and collaborate with stakeholders on a daily basis
