Community Link Worker
Location: St Teresa's Church 291 Shenley Rd, Borehamwood, London WD6 1TG
Hours: 12 per week (Monday & Thursday)
Salary: £22,847 per annum (pro rata) (£7,833 per annum for 12 hours per week)
Contract type: Fixed term to the end of March 2025 (Maternity Cover)

In joint working with Trussell Trust, you will be based within the community Food Bank, meeting with service users. You will assess their personal situations with the ultimate aim of promoting their independence and them becoming less reliant on the Food Bank.
A day in the life of a Community Link Worker:
- You will engage face-to-face with service users to identify specific needs and appropriate interventions.
- You will provide guidance and support to service users to encourage independence from the Food Bank.
- You will liaise with external agencies to support people who have become reliant on community food banks.
You will be based at the Food Bank within St Teresa's Church during their opening hours which are approximately 3 hours each day on Mondays and Thursdays. The remainder of your working hours will be spent at home or in the Red Cross office, updating caseloads.
To be a successful Community Link Worker:
- Do you understand how to improve the lives of people who may not realise there are alternative options available to them?
- Are you able to plan and prioritise your own workload with minimal supervision?
- Do you have experience dealing with caseloads?
- Are you comfortable making decisions which can impact peoples' personal outcomes?
- Are you IT literate?
