Support Worker - Regulated Service - Home Care
Location: Community work based at British Red Cross, Dundee Technology Park, Dundee, DD2 1SW, with travel around Dundee
Hours: 16, 24 or 35 per week
Contract type: Permanent
Salary: £21,840 per annum based on 35 hours per week
Driving Requirement: A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred but not mandatory
This is a Regulated Service and successful candidates will be required to register with the Scottish Social Security Council (SSSC)

What will a day in the life of a Support Worker involve?
- Playing a vital role in providing practical and emotional assistance to individuals in their own homes.
- Assisting with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and medication support.
- Supporting individuals with household tasks, and meal preparation.
- Encouraging and promoting independence, enabling individuals to maintain their hobbies and interests.
- Building positive relationships with service users, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensuring all care documentation is accurate and up to date.
To be a successful Support Worker, what will you need?
- Previous experience within a healthcare or social care setting is preferable but not essential.
- Compassionate and empathetic nature, with a strong desire to make a positive impact on individuals lives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of person-centred care principles and a commitment to upholding dignity and autonomy.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and reliability.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred but not mandatory.
