A day in the life of our International HR Officer -Emergencies
In this busy role you’ll provide high quality, professionally focussed HR services to the International Directorate staff based in the UK and overseas.
The purpose of this role is to enable the provision of specialist staff to strengthen our programmes overseas. You’ll do this through the recruitment, management and continual improvement of the processes associated with our register of pre-screened candidates. These register members are for rapid deployment and emergency operations or longer-term programmes.
You’ll aid Talent Acquisition through the attraction and recruitment of a range of specialist skill sets to BRC international registers. This provides skilled surge capacity and specialist technical know-how to our permanent staff. You’ll design, manage and front targeted and innovative recruitment campaigns in the UK and globally. These will attract new talent in specialist skill areas for BRC’s Registers and Rosters.
This role will promote the integration of equality, diversity and inclusion considerations into our recruitment, onboarding and all other points of employee lifecycle engagement. You’ll work with confidence and the ability to problem solve across diverse cultures and geographical distances. Always considering regional sensitivities.
You’ll work in an “emergencies” environment. These will necessitate providing assistance to the wider international HR team during large scale international emergencies and some out of hours and weekend working.
You’ll act as the key point of contact for register members throughout their journey with us – from application and onboarding to deployment and return. You’ll also provide advisory support to register leads and hiring managers, ensuring consistent application of Register Standard Operating Procedures and data-informed decision making.
As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, you’ll contribute to critical cross-organisational projects. This can include development of new registers, updating systems and processes. You'll also explore how we can extend our talent reach through international remote hiring and global mobility pathways.
Please note: You will be part of the emergency on-call rota (secondary), providing deployment and duty of care assistance during international crises. This is a UK based role, with occasional travel overseas as needed.
What you’ll bring to the role…
- Experience in management of end-to-end recruitment. This includes administration of recruitment activities and participation in selection decision making.
- Experience of onboarding new hires (including conducting employment checks).
- Awareness of human resources operations, systems and procedures in a complex organisation. Using and managing a HR database – including, identifying developments, data entry and data extract.
- Experience of working with and developing databases and HRIS, excellent working knowledge of Excel.
- High level of attention to detail in managing data and producing reports that support workforce planning.
- Excellent relational and communication skills to facilitate strong working relationships with staff and managers at all levels.
- Ability to communicate, influence and problem solve effectively across diverse cultures and geographical distances.
- An excellent team player who has the flexibility and adaptability to work in an emergency’s environment, responding quickly to changing needs.
- A strong promise to embedding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion across the talent and employee lifecycle.
