A Day in the Life of a Casework Coordinator Will Involve:
- Delivering specialist advice and advocacy to vulnerable asylum seekers on accommodation, asylum support, and immigration legal access.
- Identifying and referring eligible service users to the Helen Bamber Foundation pilot project for clinical mental health support.
- Maintaining and updating a directory of mental health support organisations across the East Midlands.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure holistic, trauma-informed care for service users.
To Be a Successful Casework Coordinator, You’ll Need:
- Experience in casework or advocacy, ideally within refugee or migrant support services.
- Knowledge of asylum systems, housing options, and immigration legal frameworks.
- Understanding of mental health challenges and trauma-informed approaches.
- Strong communication, organisational, and partnership-building skills.
