About The Role

Innovation Intern
Location: UK-Flexible (Hybrid, including 1 day per week in our London office)
Salary: £22,932 per annum, pro rata  (plus London Weighting if applicable £3,344)
Hours: 35 per week
Contract: Fixed term contract (6 months from February 2026)
Additional Requirements: Candidates must be aged 18-25 and able to commit to a full-time internship, from February to July 2026, in line with the funding criteria for this role.

As an Innovation Intern, you’ll play a key role in supporting the design, testing, and piloting of creative solutions that advance our humanitarian mission. You’ll contribute to exciting projects like Bridging Divides, which helps people connect and act with empathy in a polarised world. From researching and synthesising insights to creating engaging content and supporting events, you’ll help ideas move from concept to impact. This role is hands-on, collaborative, and perfect for someone eager to learn, adapt, and make a meaningful contribution to innovation in the charity sector. What will a day in the life of an Innovation Intern involve?
  • Supporting the pilot of Bridging Divides by gathering feedback from early adopters and shaping improvements.
  • Creating engaging content for websites, social media, and email campaigns to connect with diverse audiences.
  • Researching complex topics and presenting impartial, easy-to-understand information.
  • Helping to plan and organise a two-day global innovation event, capturing insights and learnings.
  • Monitoring and evaluating pilot projects, turning data and feedback into actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborating on other initiatives, from hackathons to exploring AI for resilience and flexible volunteering.
To be a successful Innovation Intern, what will you need?
  • Curiosity and a willingness to learn about innovation methods and human-centred design.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to write clear and engaging copy for different audiences.
  • Research and synthesis skills to gather insights and evaluate projects effectively.
  • Organisational and planning skills to help coordinate events and keep projects on track.
  • Confidence using digital tools like Microsoft Office and collaborative platforms, with openness to learning new ones.
  • A keen eye for detail when creating assets or supporting user journeys.
