Accountant (International)
Location: UK flexible location (hybrid, home and office)
Salary: £44,680 to £47,691 per annum per annum, pro rata (plus ILW, if residing & working in London)
Hours: 35 per week
Contract: 12 months Fixed term contract
Could you manage and oversee the financial aspects of an organisation, ensuring accuracy, compliance with accounting standards, and providing timely and relevant financial information?
Could you manage the financial processing and reporting of the International Directorate and focus on core accounting duties, including income recognition, reconciliations, donor financial reporting and financial controls, ensuring accuracy and compliance with charity accounting standards?
What will a day in the life of an Accountant involve?
- Work within established systems to deliver specified outcomes or provide general support within a specialised area of audit control.
- Resolve issues arising from audits and refer serious or contentious issues to the audit program leader.
- Maintain and renew a deep knowledge and understanding of the organisation's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, and ensure own work adheres to required standards.
- Collate and analyse data using pre-set tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.
- Edit document in line with organisational style guidelines and prepare information for publication.
To be a successful Accountant, what will you need?
- CIMA/ACCA, part of fully qualified by experience or equivalent qualification.
- Proven ability to ensure attention to detail and financial integrity.
- In depth knowledge of identifying any risks associated with financial systems, to propose controls or actions to mitigate such risks, and to monitor such controls.
- Adept in providing internal stakeholders with knowledgeable, helpful advice and guidance on financial issues.
- Experience of effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver timely information.
- Maintenance of organisational and regulatory compliance.
- Experience of challenging assumptions on financial issues where appropriate.
