About The Role

Health Operations Manager 
Location: Covers Nottinghamshire and West Midlands, can be based in either location.
Salary £43,047 Per Annum (includes market supplement for regulated service)
Hours: 35 hours, whilst this is advertised as a full-time role, we will also consider flexibility regarding total hours and working pattern
Contract: Permanent

Do you want to lead an amazing team and the delivery of services which make a difference to the lives of at risk people across Nottinghamshire, West Midlands, and Shropshire? Then this could be the role for you. We have a fantastic opportunity for a people leader, ideally with regulated service experience, to join our Health and Care team as a Health Operations Manager.

Reporting to the area director, you will lead the local management team producing a range of health services. You will also be a key part of our regional leadership team driving growth and development of our services so that we can meet our aim of reaching more people with greater impact.

What does a day in the life of Health Operations Manager look like?

  • You will oversee and lead the day-to-day function of all aspects of the British Red Cross Health Services, leading, managing and developing a service delivery team of staff and volunteers. These services focus on supporting people to come home from hospital and enabling them to live freely at home, preventing admission or readmission and tackling social seclusion and solitude. 
  • You will advise our regulated service in Nottingham, who provide personal care and support a range of patients including end of life and palliative care.
  • You will be a key strategic point of engagement with local stakeholders, including commissioners and be responsible for meeting our contractual obligations, including quality, KPIs and financial performance.
  • You will ensure the services comply with all relevant care body regulations, standards and guidelines, including providing first line assurance through observation and audit.
  • You will contribute to, and learn from, the national network of Health Operations and Regulated Managers, providing mutual support and sharing of best practice.
  • You will help us increase our reach of care and support to vulnerable people and will enhance the reputation and influence of British Red Cross in this field.
  • You will also have a key role in ensuring the that British Red Cross is included in development opportunities across the area, working closely with the Business Development Manager (BDM)

Do you have what it takes to be a successful Health Operations Manager?

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent by experience)?
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management in Adult Care, or equivalent experience?
  • Experience of managing staff, volunteers, services and projects?
  • Experience of working in a health or social care setting or voluntary organisation and delivering high quality services to people in need?
  • Understanding of how to improve service quality for the benefit of users?
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills?
  • Organisational skills - planning, managing and monitoring own and others workload?
  • Public speaking and presentation skills?
  • IT literate, with experience of using Outlook, word processing, presentation and spread sheet packages?
  • Ability to prepare, manage and monitor budgets?
