About The Role

Job Title: Senior Building Surveyor -North of England
Job Location: North of England (Flexible home and Office based)
Salary: £54,000 to £56,000 per annum based on 35 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent


Could you be a Senior Building Surveyor for the Red Cross and be responsible for the maintenance and development of the built environment and fabric of the estate across your region?
 
You will work closely with the Property team and their customer stakeholders and lead a team that delivers projects to repair, improve, fit-out and develop the portfolio.
 
Do you have a Construction or Surveying qualification e.g. MCIOB, MRICS or qualified by experience?
 
What will a Senior Building Surveyor's job involve?
  • Develop relationships with Operations, Social Enterprise and Retail teams to develop their property strategies and deliver their fit out programmes.
  • Understand stakeholders’ business requirements and operational needs in order to find property construction solutions to fit their business and services.
  • Ensure construction, refurbishment and maintenance projects are delivered with the agreed specification, on time and in a cost efficient way
  • Create and maintain a robust and transparent procurement process with, financial approvals and cost control/management of consultants and contractors.
  • Lead and develop the building surveyors ensuring that they are supported and assisted as necessary.
  • Maintain cost control on the overall budgets reporting to the Property Department Management & Finance teams on a periodic basis.
What will a Senior Building Surveyor need to be successful?
  • Construction or Surveying qualification e.g. MCIOB, MRICS or qualified by experience. (Essential)
  • Experience of Property Database implementation and management.
  • A knowledge of  legislation relating to the built environment.
  • Experience of energy efficiency management.
  • Significant experience in working in a similar role with hands-on experience and experience/ability to lead a team.
  • Experience of planning and managing projects and activities and implementing agreed strategies.
  • Ability to producing property, finance and planned preventative maintenance systems reports.
  • Full driving license for this role is essential.
