About The Role

Senior Manager – Grant Management
Job Location: UK Flexible
Salary Range: £47,046 - £53,544 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent

Do you love project management and tracking the impact of a donation? Do you know how to gather the right information for a brilliant donor report? Do you want to work with the biggest donors, both in the UK and around the world? And do you want to lead a team? Then this Senior Manager role in Grant Management is for you.

What does a day in the life of a Senior Manager – Grant Management look like?
You might start the day on a call with the Head of Policy and Advocacy at the British Red Cross and the National Lottery Heritage Fund, discussing the performance of their grant for policy and advocacy work. Then review a report that's come from the Nepal Red Cross that one of your line reports has coordinated with them on. This might be for Jersey Overseas Aid, who fund conservation and livelihoods at £1.5m over four years.

You give written feedback, and then hop on a call to talk them through how to deal with the underspend - they're relatively new in role, and this isn't something they've worked on before. After lunch you meet a Major Gifts fundraiser to discuss a Zakat element for a new refugee project that one of their donors is interested in. You have prepared some notes, you walk them through it, and they give you some amends, which you then go and work on to share with them later. You then join your regular meeting with Legal. Here you bring up a compliance question from a donor agreement which they will research for you. And then perhaps you have a one-to-one with a line report, or a team meeting to round out the day.

To be a successful Senior Manager – Grant Management, you will have the following:

  • Experience of managing 7-figure grants  from donors such as National Lottery Community Fund, government institutions, corporate donors or high-profile philanthropic donors.
  • High-level knowledge of the grants management processes and associated tools for multiple funder types. This includes institutional, corporate and philanthropic donors.
  • High-level knowledge of best-practice impact reporting, tools and presentation options.
  • Project management, financial management and reporting skills, including independently identifying risks, and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Current knowledge of the UK Voluntary/Public Sector and the main issues they are trying to address.
  • Internal and external influencing and negotiating skills, including for the most senior stakeholders.
  • Planning and organisation skills.
  • An eye for improving internal systems for efficiency, accuracy and greater engagement.
  • An interest in developing the skills of those you manage.
Interested? Closing date is 23.59 on Monday 7th October 2024. Interviews week commencing 21st October.

In return for your dedication and expertise, you’ll get:
