Programme Financial Reporting Manager
Location: UK Flexible (Hybrid between home and the Moorgate office, EC2Y 9AL)
35 hours per week
Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2026
Salary Range: £38,242 - £43,644 (plus £3,344 London weighting, if applicable) per annum
The British Red Cross are offering an exciting opportunity to leverage your financial expertise in an interesting role. Could you become an expert and focal point for financial accountability to the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) for specific grants? Could you work collaboratively with subgrantees within and outside our Movement?
A day in the life of our Programme Financial Reporting Manager
You’ll provide specialist technical financial service, ensuring greater financial accountability between our Partner, the REAP Secretariat, our subgrantees, and our back donor; the FCDO. This will include assistance to programmatic REAP (Risk-informed Early Action Partnership) staff.
You’ll be seconded to the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC)/REAP Secretariat for 40% of the time. You’ll be working on a complementary grant for the Early Warning Early Action (EWEA) fund for 60% of the time.
You’ll input, manage, and verify budget and financial reporting information. You’ll extract and analyse information to generate reporting, and review against agreed plans. Delivery of financial expertise for the Early Warning Early Action (EWEA small grants fund, includes working with subgrantees. You’ll bolster existing practices and work on improvements, such as developing an existing financial management tool in excel. You’ll also provide financial guidance to mitigate risk and ensure compliance in line with FCDO requirements.
This role is critical in complementing and filling systemic gaps through piloting and iterating pre-agreed collaborative reporting initiatives.
Although a UK based role, there will be quarterly travel to Geneva. The need for which may reduce over time- and which accommodations can be made around.
This role might be for you if you…
- CCAB (Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies) qualified accountant or nearly fully qualified.
- Are highly computer literate. Advanced knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel; and computerised accounts systems.
- Ability to assimilate complex financial and written information, coupled with excellent analytical and reporting skills.
- Have experience of stakeholder coordination and partnership working across multiple teams (many of which will be remote). You’re confident when supporting others, seeking solutions to problems, and managing multiple tasks.
- Have experience of working with international partners, programmes or in a cross-cultural environment.
- An awareness of the international development context and international climate work.
