Retail Van Driver
Location: Guernsey
Hours: 21 per week (Flexibility available)
Contract: Fixed term until December 2025
Salary: £22,932 per annum based on 35 hours per week
Could you use your driving skills to advocate for the Red Cross as the charity of choice for donations in the local community?
Join us and promote the Red Cross within your community. As part of the retail team, you will manage deliveries and collections for the Red Cross shop. You will also ensure stock for recycling is delivered appropriately and items for transfer off the island are transported to the Ferryspeed depot. Your dedication will be such a welcome contribution to the work of the Red Cross, impacting the lives of people in your community, across the UK, and abroad.
No two days may be the same but what will a typical day in the life of a Retail Van Driver involve?
- Assisting with the transport of stock and equipment to and from external sites / events.
- Being responsible for the security of the vehicle. Making sure it's clean and well-maintained, ensuring regular servicing and safety checks.
- Managing health and safety issues, following procedures and complying with national instructions, policies, procedures, and legislation.
To be a successful Retail Van Driver, what will you need?
- A manual, Guernsey driving licence held for minimum of two years.
- Knowledge of current laws and best practices for driving, vehicles, and road traffic operations.
- Previous experience in van driving, deliveries, basic vehicle maintenance.
- To be a people person, having the ability to work as part of a team whilst supporting members of the public.
The role is for 21 hours but there is flexibility available as to how these hours can be worked throughout the week. The team are happy to discuss further at interview.
