About The Role

Job Title: Casework Coordinator
Location: South Wales (Hybrid; service base in Newport and Cardiff offices, home working and community/outreach sites in Cardiff, Newport and Swansea
Salary: £27,423 per annum based on 35 hours per week
Contract: Fixed Term to September 2028
 
Can you help the British Red Cross deliver vital support to asylum seekers, refugees, and vulnerable migrants across Wales? As part of our Refugee Support and Restoring Family Links team, you’ll coordinate high-quality casework and work closely with legal representatives, partners, and stakeholders to ensure access to legal advice and essential services.

This role is funded by the Justice Together Initiative until September 2028.

What will a day in the life of a Casework Coordinator involve? You'll be:
  • Support immigration applications by gathering evidence and liaising with legal representatives on submissions.
  • Provide sensitive, specialist and high quality casework to people in vulnerable situations.
  • Plan and deliver in-person and remote support across Wales.
  • Manage workload effectively and work both independently and as part of a dynamic team.
  • Facilitate access to statutory and local support based on rights and entitlements.
  • Advocate professionally on behalf of clients to uphold their rights.
  • Promote and develop the service in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Use IT systems confidently and communicate clearly, including through interpreters

Do you have the following skills and experience to be a successful Casework Coordinator?

  • IAA Level 1 qualified (Asylum & Immigration) or working towards it.
  • Strong knowledge of asylum and refugee rights and support systems.
  • Experience managing complex caseloads and working with people in crisis.
  • Skilled in partnership working and volunteer support.
  • Excellent communication, advocacy, and organisational skills.
  • IT literate and confident using databases, spreadsheets, and email.
